Last visited 10 Apr 2013

Last camping trips, we been camping around Puli, Nantou area so decided to make a detour and explore HuiSun Hot Spring by bike. The distance to the hot spring is around 15km, thought we could bike there and spend a night. However before we can cut across the river, we were stopped right at it's path. The river was too swell to cross and decided to camp just before the river.

馬陵溫泉 Maling Wild Hot Spring

After 4 days camping around Guguan, one of our planned was to search for a wild hot spring around Guguan. We headed into the Dajia River 大甲溪 in search for an unknown hot spring who had previously been explored by other hikers

Guess it was my mistake, I did not search further as I took the information back in 2010 and when we arrived at the hot spring the whole river bed was different. I could not find the hot spring according to  the information. It seems the hot spring had been covered by landslide however I did find traces of hot spring but was not good and safe enough to have fun but only a warm feet dip.

鹿野溫泉露營區 Luye Hot Spring Campsite

We were introduced to this hotspring campsite by our friends who are staying in Luye which we met in one of the Kenting's camping trip. This hot spring site are for the farmers' families living around the area to utilise for free. Our friends gave us 2 free coupons which they got it at a good deal. So during this round island trip, we took the chance to relax in the hotspring and got ourselves and clothes washed. However we did not camp in this area but instead RV camp just outside the area in a carpark lot.
Overall the hotspring area was very cleaned and well maintained. The next morning we revisited the hotspring area to view at the camp ground but was closed. We were still able get in as there was not gate but a chain fencing up the entrance. The grass camp area is huge, water and electricity is available but not on every location. The only complain was the price, NTD800 for camping is not ideal for couple but a big family would probably benefit from it. To utilised just the hotspring only NTD100.

關子嶺紅葉溫泉山莊 GuanZiLing Honye Hot Spring Villa

15 Mar 2010

GuanZiLing, located in Tainan is another hot spring area in Taiwan, it is also one of the few places in Taiwan with mud hot spring. We decided to drop by this area to relax, get a hot shower, wash our clothes as we had been camping in our camper van for few days.

Since it was a weekday, there was hardly any crowd and we decided bargain for the prices. We managed to get NT500 for both us otherwise we would have to pay NT700 (weekend add another NT100).

石洞溫泉營地 Shidong Hot Spring Campsite

Update 20 Mar 2011
Shidong Campsite took a renovation back in Nov 2010 and reopened in Feb 2011. The new fee for  camping is NT300 per person including usage of hot spring. I must say the renovation is a success and the spa pool with 4 integrated pools offers different water temperature does have a 5 star feeling. Little changes is done to the camp ground except the relocation of the toilet and shower area which is nearer to the camp ground.

栗松溫泉 Lisong Hot Spring

We can't denied this is the most beautiful hot spring we have been. Hot spring flowing down the cliff creates a magical illusion to the area. Crystal clear river water running under your feet. It is definitely worth a visit. To get there you will need to arrange private transportation and since the Southern East-West Highway Crossing 20 is still damage from 8 Aug 2009 Marokot typhoon, the only road accessible is from Taitung.

內獅溫泉 Neishi Hot Spring

Last Visited 1 March 2011

Another wild hot spring exploration and this time it was much easier. Located in Neishi township, Pingtung County, this hot spring can be accessed by any means of transportation. From Provincial Expressway No. 1 to Fangshan Township 枋山鄉 take the easterly road towards Neishi Waterfall, around 8Km to the hot spring. You can't miss the hot spring as it is located beside the road. Morning you will find local aboriginal going for the hot spring and come later afternoon the local Han resident will be there. Best time to soak is in the evening when nobody is gone however we encountered one local resident coming to the hot spring at 1am.

哈尤溪溫泉 Hayou River Hot Spring

Two days one night journey on our mountain bikes in search of a hot spring on a river bed that has been raised 30mtr after the last Typhoon in 8 Aug 2009. No mountain to cross but countless of river crossing.

12 Feb 2011, total 11 bikers and our dog, Siboy undertook a journey that covered 16.4Km deep into the mountain valley and probably the only bikers that rode that deep inside.

多納溫泉 Duona Hot Spring

This is the best wild hot spring in Southern Taiwan!! My fellow biker friends discussed during our camping trip at Shidong Hot Spring campsite. So the next day I decided to embark an unknown journey as we are unsure how the Aug 8 2009 disaster left in her path.

文山溫泉 Wenshan Hot Spring

Last visited 4 Apr 2010
Located in Taroko National Park, this hot spring area is currently closed. I was told about this hot spring when I met a guy from Taichung while camping around the area. He told me he used to frequent this area and the hot spring was one of his favourite hang out. Next day taking his advise, we drove 2km up north from our campsite to seek out the hot spring. Watch me, my partner and Siboy our dog how we got to the hot dip!!

UPDATE: Hotspring reopened Sep 2011.

Decided to located another outdoor hot spring source but I am afraid it falls victim  from the last Aug 8 2009 disaster. Unable to find the actual hot spring according to the GPS and map, I decided to go 4x4 up hill to look for it but have to give up the idea as the weather was unpredicting and there was no road shown on the GPS.

However there is still hot spring at nearby Gueidan Leisure Hot Spring Farm

It took us awhile to locate this hot spring joint until we decided to ask one of the hotel staff for direction. The hotel staff did warn us about illegal parking around this area and the tow truck will show NO mercy if they find you have violated the traffic rules.
