Shidong Campsite took a renovation back in Nov 2010 and reopened in Feb 2011. The new fee for camping is NT300 per person including usage of hot spring. I must say the renovation is a success and the spa pool with 4 integrated pools offers different water temperature does have a 5 star feeling. Little changes is done to the camp ground except the relocation of the toilet and shower area which is nearer to the camp ground.

Around Shidong Campsite there are a few plum plantation, to get there you will need to take a left turn at the fork road just before the campsite, the road will lead to 小關山林道 Xiao Guan Mountain Trail. Just before the police station take another left and you will be at the Plum plantation. Over there you can sample some of the home preserved plum or jam and even try their plum tea. It will be kind if you can purchase a bottle of preserved plum around NT200.

This is a lovely hot spring camping site. The price for camping including the usage of hot spring pool, I must say it is worth the money. To get to the location you would need to detour towards the direction of BaoLai Spa Village. After which there will be a 4km of mountain off-road. You do not need a 4x4 to get to the location but you do have to drive slower.

The camping ground have provides electricity, water for washing and hot shower but there are no wooden platform for your tent. Do note the the electricity and hot shower is not 24H, they will only provide during certain time of the day which I did not quite like the arrangement. Also note you might need an extension cord for your electricity as they are only located at certain points.
