Another wild hot spring exploration and this time it was much easier. Located in Neishi township, Pingtung County, this hot spring can be accessed by any means of transportation. From Provincial Expressway No. 1 to Fangshan Township 枋山鄉 take the easterly road towards Neishi Waterfall, around 8Km to the hot spring. You can't miss the hot spring as it is located beside the road. Morning you will find local aboriginal going for the hot spring and come later afternoon the local Han resident will be there. Best time to soak is in the evening when nobody is gone however we encountered one local resident coming to the hot spring at 1am.
There is a vast land on the river bed for camping but be-warn it can get very windy. 50meters from the hot spring, fresh water have been piped and there is also a make shift changing room. This is a dug up hot spring from the river bed, not a good idea to visit during wet weather as the river will swell.

Around the hot spring area, you can visit
Neishi waterfall 內獅瀑布 which is just before the hot spring. If you prefer private camping, head down along Fangshan River 枋山溪, the make shift camp ground is just beside the river however at the time we were there, the river was dry.
Xidoujiao River 西都驕溪 north east from the hot spring is much wider. We drove 12Km in search for another hot spring but failed to find it. At the point where the GPS tracks ended, the river was smaller and much more beautiful, both these rivers provide a great view on passing by train. A point to note, before entering to these area, 1 Km from the hot spring, there is a sentry and you will need to register. Apparently they are trying to prevent poachers in these area.
