The forest area is well maintained, some of the trail path we could either bike or hike. The trail paths are good and there are many different things to view at. From our understand this forest was named after a school headmaster loss his life during duty in this forest and hence they had renamed it.

The forest park is one of 4 parks in Taiwan under forestry experiment, the whole area is around 7477 Hectare, ranging from 450m to 2419m high. Climate condition varies from subtropical climate to temperate climate thus there are different forms of plantation. Different month in the year, there will be different flower blossom, wild animals and different kind of insects can be found.

Camping is not allowed in the forest park, they do have rooms available but do not come cheap. We had spent 2 nights in the forest area bugging out in our vehicle. There is a big carpark with toilets.

Nearby there is a provision shop for supplies but closes at 5:00pm and opens at 8:00am. The idea was to spend a day hiking in the forest and the next day off to Hui Sun Wild Hot Spring.
