Located along Southern Cross-Island Highway 20 near Meishan Kou Visitor Center, this camp site is currently free for all. The camp area has 8 wooden platform but big enough to occupy 2 x 3men tent. Around the area there are BBQ pits, washing point, wooden tables and benches. I find the area is well maintained but I really have no idea who is keeping it clean as there are no care takers.

Eight man tent is just too big for the wooden platform

washing area

BBQ pit but we prefer to use my portable BBQ grill

January is time for Peach Blossom

across the road from the camp, you can get local cooked food and beer

Around the area there are many places to visit. Best if you can visit the Meishan Visitor Centre which is walking distance from the camp and obtain a copy of brochure. In the visitor centre there are information about the places, ecological information and a little history and culture of the aboriginal Bunun tribe.

You could drive to 140k mark Yakou to view "sea of cloud"
Walking distance from the camp and visit the Aboriginal "Meishan Village" which is nothing particularly tradition

and cross the "Red Bridge"
